Cayman Creperie Review

Grand Cayman is one of my favourite Caribbean islands I’ve visited on a cruise. In this post, I share my review of the Cayman Creperie, situated close to the South Cruise Terminal.

Cayman Creperie Location

The Cayman Creperie is located on the second floor of the Bay Shore Mall in George Town, Grand Cayman. From the South Cruise Terminal, head towards the stingray fountain and up the stairs.

During one of our Caribbean cruises, we visited George Town, and with a little time to spare before our shore excursion (swimming with stingrays) we wondered across the road from the South Cruise Terminal in search of coffee and came across the Cayman Creperie.

What are crepes?

Crepes, (widely known in the UK as pancakes) are made of simple ingredients: flour, milk, egg and a pinch of salt.

You can choose to eat them with a variety of sweet toppings such as Nutella, strawberries, whipped cream, peanut butter or bananas but I prefer the plain and simple: sugar and lemon. You can also enjoy them with savoury fillings such as ham and cheese.

Creperies originate in Brittany, France and specialise in serving crepes but have grown in popularity across the world.

Cayman Creperie Menu

We visited the Cayman Creperie for breakfast but it’s open all day from 8am to 10pm. The creperie menu has a wide selection of crepes with sweet and savoury toppings. Ingredients are locally-sourced and it serves Illy coffee.

After perusing the menu I ordered a crepe called Pure Love served with butter, sugar and lemon and a cappuccino to accompany. I was pleasantly surprised at the beautifully presented crepe that arrived.

Service

The Cayman Creperie had not long opened when we visited and so it was particularly quiet. This meant that service was very quick. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had the choice of where we could sit so decided to find a table outside on a terraced area with views overlooking the waterfront. This was a nice, relaxing way to start the day.

Value

The crepe I ordered was $6.99 and the cheapest crepe on the menu. The savoury crepes were more expensive (up to $13.99) and were more like a meal than just a snack. I felt that the price was reasonable for a breakfast crepe and coffee.

Overall Thoughts on the Cayman Creperie

I would certainly recommend the Cayman Creperie for breakfast or a light lunch. The location is perfect for cruise passengers to find and for the views of the waterfront.

We enjoyed our breakfast and morning coffee whilst watching the cruise passengers getting on and off the tenders.

The presentation was exceptional and the menu choices provided plenty of options for a meal throughout the day.
