Cruise Month this September
Cruise Month is almost upon us!
CLIA UK and Ireland has revealed its plans for its annual ‘Cruise Month’ campaign running throughout September 2019. CLIA revealed it will focus on two key themes – sustainability and wellness. It’s an opportunity to showcase and champion what cruise lines are doing in terms of creating a sustainable future and enriching wellness experiences.
Andy Harmer, CLIA UK and Ireland director, said: “Cruise Month unites the UK and Irish cruise industry – bringing together cruise lines, travel agents, media and CLIA – through an integrated campaign to promote positive messaging about why to choose a cruise holiday and the benefits of doing so.
Sustainability is high on cruise lines’ agendas and it’s not just about plastic straws. Throughout September, you can expect facts, figures, news and plans to make cruising better for the environment.
At this year’s CLIA #NextGeneration Conference, sustainability was an important theme that was discussed throughout the three days.
During September, you can expect weekly themes across the social media platforms, focusing on different aspect of wellness on cruise ships:
Week 1 – Relaxation (spa, yoga, meditation, movies etc)
Week 2 – Fitness
Week 3 – Food and Drink
Week 4 – Enrichment (guest speakers, classes, tours etc)
“Sustainability and wellness were chosen as the key themes this year as both are increasingly important factors to consumers who want to make responsible holiday choices. Furthermore, there is a significant amount of innovation from cruise lines in both wellness and sustainability, placing the cruise industry as thought leaders in these areas.Andy Harmer, CLIA UK and Ireland director
