Princess Cruises Room Service Menu & Guide

Fancy a lazy breakfast in your cabin? Craving a snack in the afternoon? This useful guide to the Princess Cruises room service menu has everything you need to know to make the most of this service on your next cruise.

When is room service available on Princess Cruises?

Princess Cruises offers 24-hour room service so there is always something available. It’s worth noting that certain items are only available at particular times of the day:

  • Breakfast 6.30am – 10.30am
  • Pizza 11.00am – 11.00pm
  • Specialty Dining menu 5.30pm – 9.30pm (extra charges apply)
  • General food, drink and snack 24 hours (some items with charges)

Be aware that room service is available up until 2am on the morning of your disembarkation.

Is room service free on Princess Cruises?

Room service breakfast is still included in your cruise fare as long as you use the breakfast door hanger supplied in your cabin.

Room service ordered with the Ocean Now app is not free on Princess Cruises. There is a $5.00 delivery fee for room service. Passengers with Princess Plus or Princess Premier have this fee waived.

Some items ordered via the Medallion app have additional charges but these are clearly marked. You can see these in the menus listed later in this post.

How do you order room service on Princess Cruises?

Breakfast can be ordered by filling out the order card in your cabin the night before. You just need to hang it on your door before you go to bed.

To order room service at any other time, you can use the TV in your cabin or via the Medallion app on your smartphone.

I’ve put together a handy step-by-step video guide to using the Medallion app to order food and drink to your cabin. If you’re new to the Medallion, I’d recommend giving it a watch now.

Princess Cruises Complimentary Room Service Breakfast

Princess Cruises room service breakfast menu offers: juices, hot drinks, yoghurts, cereals, fruit, preserves, pastries, bread rolls and an egg, bacon and cheese breakfast muffin. All are complimentary.

In my opinion, this is a very good selection of continental breakfast options.

Bottled water can also be order via the breakfast room service card:

  • 500ml bottle water $2.00
  • 1.5 litre bottled water $3.95

Suite guests do have the additional choice of cooked items as shown in the photo below.

If you aren’t staying in a suite and want a cooked breakfast, you’ll need to go to the buffet or main dining room for breakfast. Suite guests can choose to order a cooked breakfast via room service.

I’d recommend ordering room service breakfast early on a port day if you plan to get off the ship early. Perhaps you’d also like to enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your balcony on a sea day.

If you decide to treat yourself to an Ultimate Balcony Breakfast, there is a charge of around $45 per couple. It can be booked on the Cruise Personalizer before your cruise or by contacting Room Service when you get onboard.

Specialty Dining Options on Room Service

Interestingly, there is a selection of dishes from the specialty dining restaurants on the Princess Cruises room service menu. These all incur an additional charge BUT one advantage of this is that you can have a favourite dish from a restaurant with paying the full cover charge. You can also still enjoy a meal from a specialty dining restaurant if it’s fully booked.

Prices range from $5.00 to $19.00. This represents excellent value considering it’s being delivered to your cabin, but remember, it will never be cheaper than dining at the specialty restaurant in person.

Crown Grill Room Service

Why not treat yourself to one of your favourites from the Crown Grill? Starters are $7.00 to $8.00, mains $19.00 and desserts $5.00.

The Crown Grill is a popular specialty dining option and is likely to get booked up before the cruise. Take a look at the full restaurant menu for the Crown Grill to help you decide if it’s worth booking in advance.

Sabatini’s Room Service

If there is something you really enjoyed at Sabatini’s Trattoria, you can have it again via room service. One of my favourite desserts has got to be the Zabaglione Marsala and I’d happily pay $5.00 to enjoy it again!

You can take a look at the full menu available at Sabatini’s Trattoria to compare.

Where can Room Service be Delivered?

The room service menu can be ordered to arrive in your cabin, just make sure you select your cabin from the location otpions on the app or your stateroom TV. Thanks to the Medallion app food and drink can also be ordered for delivery to many other locations around the ship.

What drinks are available to order via room service?

On Princess Cruises, you can also order alcoholic and soft drinks using the Medallion app. For a comprehensive guide to the drinks prices onboard, I’d recommend taking a look at my complete guide to Princess Cruises drinks.

Complete list of drinks available on the Medallion app

There is a reduced menu for room service but it’s still a decent range of options to pick from. You will find a much smaller menu of frozen cocktails and none of the specialty drinks associated with particular bars onboard.

If you have any of the drinks packages, drinks ordered via room service are included according to the drinks package you have.

Personal Experience

Since the introduction of the Medallion app, the Princess Cruises room service menu has vastly increased. There is so much more available to order including dishes from the specialty dining restaurants.

On our most recent sailing, the reliability and speed of room service was affected by issues with the Medallion app. Snacks we ordered either took a long time to arrive or never arrived at all.

Room service breakfast remains as a Continental option, unless staying in a suite. Breakfast is ordered by hanging the room service card on your door before you go to bed. Interestingly, our breakfast arrived on time with no issues, which leads me to think that it’s only the Medallion app that is causing problems with room service orders.

Hopefully in the near future, problems with the Medallion app will be solved. This would make the room service on Princess Cruises one of the best at sea.
