One of Princess Cruises’ newest production shows is Rock Opera. Princess Cruises’ Rock Opera is performed in the Princess Theater, in this post I share information about the show and my honest opinion after watching it on Sky Princess.
Princess Cruises Rock Opera
Rock Opera was created exclusively for Princess Cruises, and features classic rock, musical theatre and opera. The songs are performed in a variety of languages – English, Spanish, Latin, and sign language.
Personally, as a fan of Princess Cruises but not of its entertainment, I have to admit that Rock Opera is the best production show I’ve seen in the Princess Theater on any ship.
“Rock Opera takes our guests on a musical journey, featuring our eight-piece live orchestra playing iconic rock songs. Our production and costume design team were inspired by one of New York City’s most glamorous evenings of the year, the Met Gala.”
Denise Saviss, Princess Cruises’ vice president of entertainment experience

Rock Opera Review
We thought we’d watch Princess Cruises’ Rock Opera on our Sky Princess cruise for the first time.
We have never been huge fans of the productions we’ve seen in the Theater in the past, preferring to watch the guest performances.
The quality of the singers became quickly obvious, with a powerful opening number from The Greatest Showman. The sound quality in the Princess Theater has noticeably improved too.
The costumes were dramatic, the energy was also great.
Personally, the show could have been cut slightly shorter as my attention during the later opera songs started to wonder.
The final performance piece was fantastic and brought us full circle, back to The Greatest Showman.
Overall, it was the best production show I have seen on a Princess ship.
